Gugu naGogo was one of four films selected by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Screen Australia for their Kaleidoscope Project in 2021.

It was produced and filmed on the traditional country of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, Victoria.

In 2022, Gugu naGogo premiered on ABC ME on World Children’s Day and a community screening launch was held at Melbourne Planetarium.

A heartwarming community crowdfunding campaign saw Gugu naGogo have its World Premiere at the 2023 New York International Children’s Film Festival, where it also won an audience award.
